The gently undulating hills of Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO Heritage Site since 2004, are the frame surrounding Podere Forte. Here, back in 1997, Pasquale Forte was spurred on by his desire to connect with the land, and here he built his dream of returning to his origins.
Podere Forte is a farm managed through the principle of organic and biodynamic agriculture, recreating in its 500 hectares the ancient idea of Roman “cortes” (courts or courtyards). In this microcosm, humans, plants and animals coexist in harmony, meaning that it is both self-sufficient and sustainable. Podere Forte is a true hymn to biodiversity.
